Pere wrote:Be carefull.... it´s not for upgrade a system, and you will have to play a little with the users acoounts to make it update your systems, i recommend you to use the "transfer information" application under utilities folder, so it saves your files and folders (but not all the syste,) and later return it to your new clean system.
The only two new options are the netkas boot (that will install dsdt method in your machine) and it´s covered on the DSDT thread, and the selection of decrypter, but both of them should work on all systems.
It´s really easy to install Iatkos V5.
If you have any explicit question, post it here.
Pere wrote:Ups, sorry, about this misinformation, this error can be cause a worng cpu setting on bios, a problem with a choosed kernel or the acpi driver selected.
Check this on your bios cpu options:
Should be like this:
Disable bit: ENABLED
virtualization: DISABLED
Hyperthreading: DISABLED
On the power options:
HPET: ENABLED (if avaliable).
ACPI 2.0: ENABLED

No worries, i appreciate your help. Is Disable bit the same thing as Execute Disable Function(which is currently disabled in the bios)? I have ACPI 2.0 enabled, the other three options, Visualization, Hyperthreading and HPET i don't have as options.

beta992 wrote:Hi,
I'm new to iATKOS, (I'm now using Ideneb)
So I was curious, and have been tested this version.
The installation goes great (without any error(s) and fast), selected everything that was needed for my motherboard/CPU/GPU, but when it's reboots on the end off the installation, it's keeps hanging. (black (half) overlay; no message as: Your computer needs to reboot..)
Tried safe boot, needed bios settings where set before installation, also tried disabling network/audio/serial..
It's keeps hanging with a CPU error (also tried without Speedtstep), but I think it has something to do with the motherboard.
Ideneb works without any error, but I want to use iATKOS; it's looks faster![]()
Can it be solved? Tips? Know problem?
Thanks!
Specs:
Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3R (rev. 2.1) - Know there are some problems, but how to solve?
Intel Core Duo 2 Q6600 (2,4 Ghz, no overclock what so ever)
2 GB Kingston Memory (CL6, 800 Mhz)
Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT (512MB, XFX)
