Look for this file onto system/library/systemprofiler

SPiPlatformReporter.spreporter

Erase it. (Note the difference with the other file i pointer earlier.)

I use voodoo kernel.

I'am trying download System+seatbelt.kext but it's not possible.

I will try later.
Thanks

K@ravan

Pere, my system not boot, I must install System+seatbelt.kext?
Can I install booting with Leopard USB and install on the other USB HD when I have Leopard 10.5.7? can I?

Thanks

K@ravan

Edit:

Same result after install System+seatbelt.kext, reboot.
Thanks
K@ravan

Karavan, your problem is your voodoo kernel has been replaced, you need to reinstall it again.
Loon onto iatkos dvd under system/installation/packages and install Voodoo kernel from there (use your usb install to operate onto the 10.5.7 system.

Updated to 10.5.7 - Didn't Fail, but system is completely unstable now.

Every 5 seconds I'm getting Freezing, need to Restart (I have Custom DSDT from the DSDT Patcher GUI -- still doesn't work). I keep getting Ethernet +1 (Every restart I'll gain 1 more Ethernet).

Here's how I installed

10.5.6 I edited seatbelt and system to show the verison to 9.9.9 - Installed with osx86tools (Pere told me to do this in another thread) worked. Just needed to reinstall VooDoo Kernel.

10.5.7 Installed right from the Apple Updater - everything went fine. Restarted with -v -f & then booted up, constant freezes - reapplied the DSDT Patcher GUI just incase. And nope.

Had the same issue with system profiler than hastabalik and the solution worked ok to me just as well. :)

Anyway, before fixing it, I did not notice any problem on the overall performance of the OS. So, I guess that except for an aesthetic reason, not fixing system profiler would not do any harm at all either, am I right?

Thanks to Pere, Uphuck and all contributors.

Needs -F kernel flag to boot now, or a continuous reboot will occur. :!:

Ok, seems you have to "touch" extensions.mkext file.

Once you are on desktop, open terminal and write:

sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions.mkext

write your password and restart after a minute, let´s see if now the .mkext file is working.

I've got 10.5.7 on a test pendrive which boots ok. :D
I don't have QE/CI yet, and when I try EFI studio, which worked before, it doesn't work now. QE/CI is not supported. I still get my old GT7300 in sys prof even though I've used EFI studio to add my newer GT8600 to the plist. Is the system picking up my existing system plist, and not my pendrive Chameleon plist? I have Cham 2.0 installed on both the main hdd and the pendrive. Do I need to delete the old plist to get it to accept the new one?

"Touched" both System Extensions.mkext and Chameleon Extensions.mkext, working now without -F flag. :D
Pere, can 10.5.7 vanilla kernel work on 3GHz Pentium D SSE3?

Edit: Vanilla kernel not working... :|
